Dining Out with The Village on a Diet

Usually persons who are “on a diet” feel as if they have to eat at home all of the time because they can’t get the food they want at restaurants. This can lead to a feeling of being isolated or deprived.

Not so for the participants of the Village on a Diet.

Go to any of the restaurants profiled here and they will have a variation of the All-You-Can-Eat Soup seasoned and with appropriate additions as provided by the recipes from Good Housekeeping. You can order the soup‚ and your companions or family whatever suits their fancy.

When you go to one of these restaurants, be sure to thank them for their community spirit. They are truly an important part of the Village on a Diet. We are grateful they saw that committing to this project would be of great value and convenience to the community, their customers who might want to participate in the Village on a Diet‚ and even potential new customers.

Show your gratitude by eating out at their establishments.

Patio dining in a garden setting is one of the charms of the Garden Center Cafe©. One of the other obvious delights is their unique menu so beautifully served. The Garden Center has always served homemade soups and they are happy to

The popular and familiar El Jardin Mexican Restaurant with its Mexican cuisine is now celebrating its 24th year.  For many of these years the restaurant has served delicious and healthy food. The Fedorchak family has created a lard-free Mexican menu and a selection of entrees that are satisfying and low fat.  They will be making a Mexican-style All-You-Can-Eat soup with seasonings and add-ins inspired by traditional Mexican cuisine.  The tempo here is lively and fun. Many of the servers have been with El Jardin for years and seem to enjoy being a part of the friendly family atmosphere. El Jardin is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday with brunch and dinner available on Sunday. Closed on Mondays.

Stepping into the Soda Fountain Cafe (located in the Arts and Cultural Center) is like stepping back into time‚ a most pleasant experience. Fallbrook

is so fortunate that owner-chef Ineke Michels came along when she did to not only preserve this unique environment but also to transform it into a wonderful place to eat. While she retained the soda fountain‚ and the

accompanying sweet treats one would expect, there are tablecloths on the tables and delicious foods, too, including homemade soups, salads,

sandwiches and signature desserts. An eager and enthusiastic caterer, Ineke knows people and saw immediately that having the All-You-Can-Eat Soup available at The Soda Fountain  Cafe© would be a wonderful service to the

community. Although Ineke will be making the soup according to the recipe, you can be sure she will add her special touch in seasonings and add-ins so

your dining pleasure is assured. Soda Fountain Cafe© is open Monday through Friday from

9 - a.m. to 4 p.m.
